The Art of Meditation: Nada Yoga (Sound Meditation)

  • The Library @ The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbia 2701 Heyward Street Columbia, SC, 29205 United States (map)

Through sound, we reconnect with the rhythm of our own being.
In this class, we’ll explore Nada Yoga, or sound meditation, which uses vibration as a focal point for bringing about a sense of union with the universe. Whether it’s the external sounds around you — bells, chimes, or nature — or the internal rhythms of your breath and heartbeat, sound vibrations offer a powerful way to center the mind and calm the spirit. Let your voice, as well as the sound of instruments like chimes, singing bowls, and shruti box, guide you into a meditative state. You’ll enrich your practice and find connection to the entire web of consciousness.

This donation-based class is open to all. Come as you are.
