About your guide: Sudha McFadden is an artist, musician and educator from South Carolina. She has worked with people of all ages and abilities and is known for her friendly, welcoming approach to art. Most recently, she worked as a Montessori art teacher. In this workshop, she draws from her Indian heritage to present a form of artistic expression that promotes well-being, inner peace, and relaxation.

This class will take place on Tuesday evenings from 6:00-7:00 at the art studio at Seven Oaks Park.

  • You’ll get expert instruction in all of the steps for drawing your own mandalas — from constructing grids to considering negative space. You’ll receive a handy guide to keep, and all materials will be provided (compasses, protractors, rulers, pens, pencils, erasers, archival paper). You’ll also receive a 12×12 matted frame to take home your display-worthy artwork!

  • We welcome all kids ages 10 and up, as long as everyone 15 and under is accompanied by a ticketed adult. However, the instructor can’t give extra time to children. If your child may need more help than an adult, this class may not be for them. We offer child-specific classes from time to time, so keep an eye on our calendar!

  • Yes! If you are planning to miss one class, I will work with you to make sure you know how to work on your mandala at home for that week, or we can catch up during the following class.

  • There is ample free parking outside the community center where the art studio is located at Seven Oaks Park. Enter the main doors and ask at the front desk for the art studio.
